Guest and Family Safety
Guest and Family Safety. We continue to follow best practise, guidance and rules as adopted during Covid, as applicable to the Outer Hebrides, evolving as necessary.
Small Print:

1.    Lingay House is our home, a private residence, at which we welcome guests to stay in our B&B establishment.

2.    If spills, breakages or damage occur, however small, please let us know straight away so that we can tidy up or repair as appropriate, both for the comfort of guests and the protection of our home. These things happen and we would rather know about them directly. If the damage is costly then we reserve the right to make a charge.

3.    Online bookings are confirmed automatically on the screen and other bookings at the time we give you our acceptance. These constitute the contract between the two parties of the booker and Lingay House. Our online booking system sets out the terms of the booking regarding a deposit and the balance, as amended by this page.

4.   We welcome bookings from agencies on behalf of their clients, but full payment at the DB&B rate must be paid before the booking can be accepted, so as to protect us from the losses due to the high rate of unpaid late cancellations by agencies. Our terms remain superior to those of agencies.

5.    We accept payment through the online system for deposits, then bank transfer and card or cash when with us.

6.    Our room rate prices include two single beds and breakfast, plus dinner where indicated. We reserve the right to reallocate rooms when under guests and local accommodation pressures.

7.    Other costs will be charged at the end of your stay.

8.    Guest arrival is usually from 5pm and departure usually by 10am. Please ask if you require time changes or bag drop off or collection outside these times. Lifts can be arranged at pro rata rate of c.£50 per incurred hour.

9.    Guests of 5 years and older are required to have a bed, so please ask if there are extra bed requirements.

10.  Lingay House and grounds are a non-smoking area.

11.  Our alcohol licence allows us to offer guests alcoholic drinks on the premises. Otherwise, the consumption of alcohol purchased from elsewhere is not permitted, as it infringes our licence and we reserve the right to ask you to vacate the premises without any refunds. Similarly, we ask that only food provided by Lingay House is consumed on our premises.

12.  In the event of a cancellation, deposits are not refundable and any outstanding balances are payable, so we strongly suggest that you have insurance in place to cover such travel costs. In the extremely unlikely event that we were unable to honour your booking, we would seek to provide as much notice as possible and suggest alternative accommodation, with payments limited to your payments to us.

13.  We can only be responsible for Lingay House, so you must be sure of your own arrangements with Calmac & other transport and food providers. We live on an island so please bear in mind that some external events are outside our control.

14. Please be sure to ask if there is something that we can help you with.

15. Please make positive comments about your stay at Lingay House on our online booking system, Google and Trip Advisor. Should you have any negative comments then please raise them straight away so that we can sort things out

and leave you with happy memories.
